The working principle of Simmons cone crusher is based on the principle of **laminated crushing**, the core of which is the **swinging motion of the moving cone**:
1. **Core Movement:** The core components of the equipment are the **moving cone** and **fixed cone**. The bottom of the main shaft of the moving cone is supported by an **eccentric sleeve**. When the motor drives the **horizontal axis** to rotate through the transmission device (pulley or coupling), the **small bevel gear** on the horizontal axis drives the **large bevel gear** (connected to the eccentric sleeve) to rotate.
2. Eccentric motion: The rotation of the eccentric sleeve forces the main axis of the moving cone to do a pendulum motion. It can be understood that the moving cone “revolves” around the center line of the crusher (eccentric motion), and at the same time, due to the friction between the liner, the moving cone also slowly “rotates” around its own axis.
3. Crushing chamber and laminated crushing: The inner surfaces of the moving cone and the fixed cone are both equipped with wear-resistant linings, and the space between them forms a crushing chamber. As the moving cone swings, the cross section of the crushing chamber changes periodically: * **When approaching:** When the movable cone swings close to a certain part of the fixed cone, the gap in the crushing chamber in that area becomes smaller, and the material entering the chamber is crushed by being squeezed, bent and sheared. * **When moving away:** When the movable cone swings away from this part of the fixed cone, the gap in the crushing chamber becomes larger, and the crushed material is discharged downward under the action of gravity, and at the same time, the material above falls down to replenish.
4. **Continuous crushing and discharging:** This continuous swinging motion causes the material to be continuously squeezed and released in the crushing chamber, realizing a continuous feeding, crushing and discharging process. The material undergoes multiple squeezing and crushing in the crushing chamber, and finally reaches the required particle size and is discharged from the discharging port.
